Studio
The students were given time in the studio to shoot the assignment "Studio Lighting with Flash". Katie shot a plethora of photographs for the assignment, but was told to turn in six of her pictures. The objective of this assignment was to shoot the following: Close-up, Upper body, Full body, Action Shot, Multiple, and Still Life. The focus of "Studio" was to get the students more comfortable shooting in that type of setting and to be able to learn how to use lighting on the model. The assignment was a challenge for Katie because she is not used to shooting inside with bright lights. However, she appreciated the challenge because it taught her useful skills, such as: positioning of model (s), how to use props, and adjusting her light to fill the models face properly. Katie's favorite was "Action Shot" because it allowed her to do almost a full body shot, but also incorporate her past skills of stop-action into her picture. She also liked "Close- up" because it forced her to focus on an up-close subject matter with bright lights, which is something her has never experimented with before. Below are Katie's six pictures for "Studio".
